January 2012

Happy New Year! Hope it will be better for you and the nation.

Your Chapter Board of Directors has been busy preparing revisions to the Chapter’s Bylaws. These have been necessitated due to the Institute’s restructuring of the membership categories. It has also been a chance for us to update them more to the way we are doing business. The Institute’s Governance Committee has recommended acceptance to the Institute’s Secretary. When we get the Institute Secretary’s approval, we will then send them to you via e-mail for your review and approval.

Speaking of e-mail, if you haven’t been to the Institute’s web site and updated your account profile, please do so ASAP. The Institute will be issuing their annual ballot via e-mail. Our Chapter will also be issuing our ballot electronically via your recorded profile e-mail address.

The Chapter will be starting our Construction Document Technician (CDT) learning sessions starting on January 16th. If interested contact Glen Reimer at ghreimer@msn.com ASAP. The spring exams will be given in April and these sessions will help you gain the knowledge that you need. Even if you aren’t taking the exam, you can audit the sessions – we just ask that you acquire the text.

Our January Meeting‘s topic will be ConsensusDocs. If you use the industry standard documents this will help you belter understand them. If you don’t, you may wish to see what you’re missing. Join us at Taaza Restaurant on January 19th. Our February Meeting ‘s topic will be on polished concrete – watch for more information and check the Chapter Meetings and Event tab on this web site.

Make the most of your membership and join in on the Chapter’s activities. You’ll gain knowledge and networking opportunities.
